Both of my sons went through college in Boston. With 2+ feet they will have to truck much of the snow to the harbor. NY has the same issue. No place to pile it in the city.
I saw news that NYC now has huge 18-wheeled snow melting trucks fueled on gas. They load the snow into the hopper and melt it so it flows into the storm sewers. Pays for itself (supposedly) in time/fuel when the transport trucks don't have to go as far between loads. See link
