Greg D. got me interested in using the High Dynamic Range tool. The camera takes 3 shots in succession; automatically bracketing 3 light meter readings-the middle range-one range above-one range below.
Then the cameras computer merges the three images. The idea is it creates a final image with 3 different light ranges to get a better exposure.
I'm not wowed yet! But have only played with it briefly. This shot was hand held and the 3 images appear perfectly focused-merged together. The image still needed a bit of lightening but the light levels were better balanced to start with.
