Ottawa is the home of the world's largest man made skating rink, part of the Rideau Canal. Today is the 46th straight day of it being open without any closures due to thaws. Tomorrow will be a record 47 straight days open, longest in the 45 year history of the skateway. It has been a cold year, even for Ottawa. -25°C last night with a windchill of -33°C (-27°F). It was ONLY -5°C on Saturday and my kids spent 2 hours outside enjoying the warm day
