But that's streaming online these days too, only with a time lag of day or so. Cable will probably be history in my house soon. As Maine attests, I have no use for 99% of what is coming through the wire. But I'll not be held hostage for the 1%, no matter what the bundle deal is. 
They should get rid of their mind numbing junk.
