Last camping spot was flat to the horizon almost. I say almost since in this area there are rocky hills such as in the photo in every direction eventually.
Where I'm camped now is in a ravine'ish area with crags and rocky tops in every direction including just behind camp. Lots of flowers in areas that retain the moisture or get run off from the rocky crags, other areas none. Purple, yellow, tiny tiny white flowers, some red. Ocotillo cactus are just coming in bloom, too.
The photo is just down the road a piece, you might say, about a 1/4 mile toward the highway. I thought it showed the greening well. You can see the rocks that must come tumbling down the hill as erosion takes its toll. The rocky crag is maybe 200' high as it slopes up from the little road. Palo Verde trees and Creosote bush are predominant. The green turns into little tiny white flowers near as I can tell when it gets enough rain. Before the rains two weeks ago there was no green growth, just apparently bare rocky "soil".
