away then it's a good job. A professional once told me that "their is never a last coat". I guess if you sell the boat you can say that you put the last coat on but short of that, just keep trying to get the perfect job and once in a while you can come close. I tape like others have said here and use the varnish as a sealer. Once you get your six coats on you can pretty much tale to the ridge left from your previous coats.
