On passages we had ao much salt on the lifelines they were white. We had fish, floatsum & dirt on deck along spots of bird shit in areas that the salt spray didn't wash off.

Mud on deck is the easy part to clean after raising anchor. All you need is a salt water washdown

Strange as it was I liked the boat looking that way when reaching landfall after a few days passage as it was a clear indication the boat actually went somewhere.
