Height not a factor, but I want to mount it permenently...

and that means up the mast. But the same concern applies if it were rail mounted. The aluminum bracket that holds the antenna on the average installation frankly looks like it belongs on an RV, not a yacht. The Rogue Pro mounts on a 1" antenna mount and is polished stainless.

I did call them and of course the guy said it was great and would work and I should buy one. He did say it had a more robust N connector than the standard Ubiguiti. I have ordered one so I guess I will find out. He also said "don't go too high" because close in at a marina you might be above the antenna pattern.
