We had owned and cruised on her for 12 years and 25,000 miles. It was a comfortable home we never felt cabin fever on. I think it was over when we started comparing places. It seemed that we could always come up with some place that was either better or more interesting than the place we were.
Under water was incredible in The Honduras Bay Islands and Kuna Gala. Above water we liked New England, Kuna Gala, the ICW the Windward Islands, Trinidad and Venezuelas off shore islands.
Everything comes to an end. If I wasn't 70 but 40 I'm sure I'd miss it but the whole thing was getting too much for both of us. (For those of you that believe it was just the size of the boat I would disagree. Both the wife (Admiral) and I feel that her size allowed us to cruise years longer as it was just so damn comfortable.). The fact that she was a performance motorsailor allowed us to sail at 9 knots when the magic happened and when we were going against the weather her 40,000 lbs and 130 HP made uncomfortable passages more tolerable.
I guess that when it's over, it's over. Hell, even Evans and Beth had enough, quit and sold the boat.
