Shouldn't you have informed the skipper of BELLA LUNA that a "Pan-Pan" probably would have been more appropriate than calling a "Mayday"? (grin)

Weather's bound to improve soon, hope you're enjoying your trip... Are you headed out to Nantucket next? FYI, I was in Nantucket for the 4th last summer (actually, the festivities were postponed to the 5th, due to Hurricane Arthur) They put on one of the more spectacular fireworks shows - from a barge moored off the beach near Brant Point - I have seen in a LONG time, the view from the harbor was fantastic...
