I owned a J32 that I sailed out of San Diego several years ago. It was the best sailing boat I have ever owned including a Saga 43. In the harbor there was only one boat that could beat us in informal one on one challenges- the Etchell 22 and usually only to weather.

It had a cruising interior, mostly white fiberglass but with enough teak trim to make it look decent. I wish I still had her now.

- J 35's are great sailing boats!
  - That drops the Whistler down in my book. A boat has to sail well to windward to be any fun.
    - The issue with the Whistler was not weight...
      - That does seem pretty 'wide' to the wind.
- Spartan boat interiors are a boon to sailing for me. Less...."stuff" to complicate the boating.
