With no AWS, I only pay attention to my tacking angle on the gps(it tells the brutal truth). I hope for 90, but rarely see it. But our old boat is a pleasure to sail to windward and will nearly always beat motoring into the wind on distance to weather. Xmas is not a particularly comfortable motorboat into the wind.
