A sabre 34 was within reach for many people back when they introduced the boat. I am only guessing, but I imagine a new Sabre 362 would run over $500K, which is totally out of reach for all but the well to do. Given that you can buy a Sabre 34 MKI for under $20K and a mark II for around $30K, why spend 10-15 times as much for a new boat. The lower priced boats are pretty steep too. A new Catalina 315 will set you back $180K-$200K. Not many working families can afford to pay that for a boat.
I agree that there is a market for the powerboats Sabre and Hinckley build now, but with a $750K minimum entry point, those boats are not being bought by "average" working folks.
Basically, new boats are pretty much priced out of reach for the vast majority of people. Furthermore buying new makes little sense when you can pick up a used boat so cheaply. You can buy a pretty nice used Hinckley Bermuda 40 for significantly less than a new Catalina 315.
