Re: Boat US trying to push for the availability of Ethanol-free gas for boaters

Boat U.S. and NMMA (National Maine Manufacturers Association) have been plugging away at this for years, together with the mfrs assoc for small motors (yard tractors, power tools, etc.) to no avail. The Environmental people have for years been pushing against ethanol, as it cost more energy to produce than it delivers, but ethanol is subsidized -- at something like 50c a gallon -- so the ethanol producers and corn farmers want to keep producing.
My neighbor was blaming ethanol on the "greens" and I was trying to explain that the "greens" are against ethanol. I couldn't get much traction.
