We powered the majority of 200nm in a couple weeks, but spent most of our hours underway, undersail

How did that happen? For starters, here's the wind record for those 2 weeks on GoMOOS. This buoy that recorded an average wind speed of 6kts, is located at the mouth of the Penobscot Bay. We spent nearly all of our time to leeward of the buoy in mostly southerly winds, up the bay in backwaters, so conditions were lighter still for us.

Still, we had some great sails! They just weren't particularly fast. I have some friends that don't sail when boat speeds are below 4 knots of so. They would have been strictly power boats during these two weeks.

Here's the slowest sail I recall. Sailing out of Belfast, we're doing 1 knot over the ground(see our wake? ). Why? We didn't need charging. We'd been spending up to 3 days with plenty of reserve power left in our small bank(we just picked up a block of ice in Belfast).

But mostly, we planned to be out for another 2 days, and we were less than 10 miles from home. The boat was sailing itself in wind I couldn't really detect and it was a beautiful day. We had plenty of time for a 1 knot sail.
