Wish we saw more in-water creatures, mammals, even. But lots of these descendants of dinosaurs! This was at Cliff Island.
And an early-morning pickup of traps at Harbor Island (well, really Hall Island on this side), I suppose not containing any creatures at this point.
I watched a gull here, on our return trip, stake out a rock on the shore. He even defended it from another bird. Then he (?) spread his wings (and they looked huge through the Fujinons) and dived into the water. He quickly emerged with a crab. I was impressed.
After rounding Pemaquid Point, we'd had a great downwind run up Muscongus Bay up to Harbor Island. I'd love a carbon fiber pole, but this worked quite well. This part of the bay is littered with various body parts of the Devil, but with care one can avoid them. The lobster pot floats are more evil! And might contain critters.
