Thanks for that great article. I'm sure I know who her father is from the faces on the docks, but I don't think I've met him. Our local fleet has grown this season with the higher boat prices. Bait trucks seem to be doubled up on the wharf more often than not this year, and boats have more 'stern men' onboard, sometimes 3 plus captain.
I can't imagine there is much hidden from each other when it comes to catches in the harbor. I watched a local guy and his wife unload Sunday mornings catch. I asked the guy tending the bait truck, "how many pounds" He looked down at the catch and said, "about 250 pounds by the looks". That's close to $1,000(boat price is $3.5/pd+) for a sunday morning for a guy and his wife. Not bad.
