We still carry paper charts, sextant, tables & almanac aboard any time we are our sailing!

There are EMP devices that are not exactly like we think of atomic bombs. They explode high up and knock out all electrical. I think that is one of the ideas the military is thinking about.

In any event, a ground based backup is a GREAT idea!
