. . . to hold the keel on a wooden boat or on a metal boat, so why would they expect it to hold the keel on a composite boat, especially when peel resistance isn't the strongest property of laminates. The keel is (I would think) at least 30% of the weight of the entire boat -- it ought to be supported by as much of the boat as possible.
