It helped but it took heavy srcappers and brute force to take that 2 part off. It was never soft enough to scrape off with a putty knife.

The stuff does fail and when it does, it's not easy to remove(I'll never forget that task). There will be little left of the non skid doing this(and it will be tough not to take some gelcoat beneath the 2 part).

I would think the only way to save the gelcoat non skid, Steve, is if you can somehow save the paint and re coat.
