In a bankruptcy, it would be unusual to have liablitilies pass with the acquisiton of assets.

Bankruptcy is sort of Alice in Wonderland experience. Whatever guarantees existed before are usually neutered.
Of course, there is strong business reason to reasonably to not trash the "Hunter" name and "brand" -- or they would not have used it on a going-forward basis.
