Yet another chapter. I was doing my usual pre-spring launch check of safety gear over the weekend. Checked the hand held flares, original 2008 issue so they were long expired. I found the bag with the flare launcher and had to sit back and try and figure this rig out. It is obviously military surplus, made by HK in 26.5mm caliber, all metal and heavy as heck. There is a reducer like the one shown in the photo although I can't find any caliber markings. There are 4 Orion flares which I will need get my magnifying glass on to determine caliber. There are also several military looking flares made of metal, the internet says they are "Red Rain", each has triple red meteor flares. Interesting that I can still purchase MilSurp rounds from Checzkoslavakia or Poland for $140 for 40 rounds.

In any event, is this a keep and use, keep and put up on the wall or??
