Certainly, you should shorten-up the tether so you can't fall over.
My tether won't reach to the stern anyway....And in rough, or rainy weather, the cockpit floor works
Isn't that why we put drains in the cockpit? I use a milk jug cut out to accommodate. Handle.
Here's an opportunity for an invention.
Reminds me of a trip in a C-119 in the sixties. Airline strike. It had a funnel and tube.......
