Precede the image link with an BBS image tag. The format is precede the image link with: "left-square-bracket-img-right-square-bracket" with no hyphens or spaces. Then follow the image link with: "left-square-bracket-forwardslash-img-right-square-bracket" with no hyphens or spaces.

The forward slash tells the BBS software that it has reached the end of the image tag. The letters "img" should be typed literally as IMG they signify the BBS image tag type. The image link should be a fully formed URL for the image itself, not the page the image comes from.

The BBS software interprets it based on the code and embeds it in the page. BBS image tags are similar in concept to HTML tags, only slightly modified.
