... As we never even had DSC before sailing over here. We do use VHF 16 occasionally to call ship(s) but with so much traffic over here it sometimes seems better to call them privately. Channel 16 had a lot of chatter when we sailed over here from the UK, it was some what entertaining to listen to at times, such as the guy laying cable who was in the thick of the shipping lanes.
