You guys like to spend much of your summer on the water. Going back and forth to Maine is a haul on a sailboat. For moving up and down the coast, on a route line, I think power boats are the better option, especially if one or both of you are impaired.
The simple act of sailing is a means to an end for me. I think that's typical of people that love to sail.
When Dorsey's shoulder heals up (I'm hoping it will), I'm not convinced that she won't find a way to sail again. She strikes me as someone that will miss sailing too much. Maybe Todd's idea of having both will work for you? I know more than one couple that switched to power, and are now back to sailing.
