Very handy knot to know. It's the only knot I know of where you can tie two wires together. "Have broken back stay will travel." The history of the knot is pretty interesting. The Germans first used on the Zepland blimps but Commander Rosenthal used in the US navy "lighter than air ships". Some say they used it to haul up a downed submarine and save a bunch of sailors from certain death. The navy calls it the Rosenthal. The sub was the Squalis. Not sure of the spelling but it's close. Read the story, it's good.
