We had a bright sunny day here and I was able read the model off the old fuel pump, it is of course now obsolete. The new one is supposedly a replacement for it. The old one pumps plenty of fuel out, the new one none, unless I lower it way down and then it struggles.
The Walbro rep thought it should work and was going to talk to the engineers about why it doesn't, but hasn't got back to me yet. I'm pretty well convinced at this point that I got a defective pump. Of course it could be that it is not powerful enough and is not a good replacement for the old one.
This should have been such a simple job!
