It seems mighty deep for fairing. Check it closely for separation which likely wouldn't show internally due to the inside ballast. If it is somehow just fairing, I'd agree with Todd to lay in 'glass strips at least to help fill the void. Fair over that, yes, but look mighty carefully for worse.
