I have mixed feelings about wind turbines. They are harnessing "free" energy but do we really understand the impact? It does seem to be less impact than nuclear and fossil fuels but maybe not less than hydro electric. Solar is expensive and not as easy to scale up but is potentially less impact on the environment. Funny you mention the Grand Canyon since there is a very large hydro dam on the Colorado River and is a bit of a tourist attraction itself. Maybe wind turbines on Mount Rushmore isn't such a bad idea
