Thanks Tom! I don't disagree that the first one is bouncy--I kinda liked it because, well, that's how it really was! (and it REALLY got bouncy after dark!) I have a Go-Pro but these two were just my Iphone 7 and unedited. Strongly leaning towards a DJI Mavic drone but liked the little package with the stabilizer that Go Pro Karma came out with. But as a drone, the Mavic seems to be the one to beat.
Next steps are learning the cutting and dubbing of sound/music etc and there are tons of choices in editing software just like tons of drone choices. It's pretty easy to spend a lot of time and energy going on the learning curve, not to mention dollars. The trouble is once you begin to learn things, you find out what you 'shoulda' done/learned/spent your money on. The more you learn, the more you just 'need' to spend to do it better.
It's one of the reasons I never got serious about fishing or golfing--it's just enough to know, learn and budget for the sailing part, let alone, the add-on of photography and video tools. But, I like the idea of sharing my sailing experience whether in real time with people or 2nd hand via story and picture. Between you and Dylan Winter, I have some tough acts to follow. Your photo essays here capture the essence of your time on the water while making one feel as though they were with you--or wished they had been. Dylan does the same with his KTL videos.
