Videos of warm Southern waters would be great to keep us Northerners going through the winter months. Drone footage is fun because it provides a different view than we normally see but it's good to get the deck level perspective as well. I usually fix a camera to the rail to record the action but I make the mistake of not getting enough hand held footage. The camera on the rail is good because you can just let it run without interfering so you may capture more that way than you would with just a handheld. I'd also like to get more audio but an action camera in a case has really bad audio quality and I don't have a separate sound rig yet.
For editing I've use Windows Movie Maker and CyberLink PowerDirector. PowerDirector has more capability, especially for audio, but Movie Maker is free and has the capability to make basic movies. If you are on a Windows machine I suggest getting started with Movie Maker before investing in a paid program. It is no longer supported by Microsoft but is still available for download as part of the Windows Essentials bundle. There are several other programs in the bundle that you may want to deselect as part of the installation process if you go this route.
