a kid comes home from school with a bad report card. when he shows it to his father, his father says to him

'son, when i was your age i knew the name of every president of the united states'.

the kid thinks about it for a moment and says

'sure dad, but when you were my age, there weren't as many presidents'.

i'm not trying to stick up for kids today but you have to admit there's a whole lot more for them to learn than when we were growing up....

p.s. our neighbors to the north have my permission to change 'president of the united states' to 'prime minister of canada'.....
