Talking on the cell phone while driving is simply dumb, but texting while driving is idiotic and symptomatic of the "it's all about me" society. We shouldn't need laws to ban outrageous behavior. What's next? Laws to ban reading magazines while driving? Or banning varnishing your dorade boxes while driving on the interstate?
