I have been a regular transportation cyclist for well over 30 years, lived car free for about 7 years, have toured across America, and down the length of Baja on a bicycle.
These days, folks with cell phones glued to their heads are my biggest concern. I have had far far too many close calls with cell phone using motorists. They run red lights, they don't look up and see what is ahead, they drift all over the road. Frankly if you are using a cell phone while driving you are a menace to yourself and others.
Don't get me started on texting. Oddly texting should be an advantage... you should be able to get an incoming text message and respond LATER. Of course the same works for voice mail. I don't know of a single cell phone that doesn't come with voice mail... meaning you can (and should) put off answering that call until you are not moving.
