Sometimes an individual compute can give you problems causing something not to work.

I plugged mine in and it has always worked fine on two different Mac's. Never had any problems with it.

I've never heard of anyone having a problem with it before. If people are having problems then go with the Alpha or if you have a PC the 'Engenuis' but you need the high gain antenna, not the little one that comes with it.
