The Pactor 2E only has one serial connector on the back.
In Response To: That's surprising ()

To make the 2E work with frequency control you need to connect one serial connector from the computer to the Pactor and a second cable from the computer to the Icom. Both need the USB to serial adaptor.

The problem is with the ports. I think that the computer is confused with the two Keyspan adaptors. It connects one but not the other.

I was thinking of getting USB multi adaptor. That way I only need to configure one USB port on the computer. The multi USB adaptor might sort it out.

I'm finding out that many who purchased a 2E Pactor modem are upgrading to the USB model to solve the problem. That way it would be configured the way yours is. Kind of stupid though, Purchasing a $1,200.00 piece of equipment so that I don't have to manually set the frequency. We've been setting the frequency manually for 9 years. Just thought it would be nice to do it automatically.

I hate all of this. We're still in the marina but when we leave If I haven't figured it out,, forgetaboutit!
