but based on my experience crossing the bar at Mazatlan, I think "Brendon" would have taken 5 huge hits under the same circumstances. How she would have come through them is any one's guess but I don't think it would have been pretty. I don't think many cruising boats would have done any better. Maybe some sled that that someone tried to turn into a cruiser might have made it but your average fully loaded cruiser would have ended up rolling in like a wet log. IMHO
