Shortly after my 23rd bday, my 16yr old nephew moved in to my parents' home. My father's sister's only son was left without parents. I recall my mother freakin' out that she had to raise another teenager...I was a poster child for all that I could get away with...I applaud you and your wife's commitment to this young man. He'll do both of you proud. AS far as this is a sailing site, there is no better sense of accomplishment than raising a kid. Watching my Dad with Thomas was instructive for me and I certainly could see the unconditional love he and my mother bestowed on their "son". Thomas is now 53 and the brother I never had. He wept openly and loudly at our Dad's funeral.
