I have to tell you that the admiral and I went north to the bay area here in CA last weekend, and we shared the plane with about 10 kids on a sailing team. It was pure happenstance. I noticed all the kids in a group and asked if it was "a school event." Sure enough, it was a sailing team. Even more of a coincidence is that I regularly race against one of the fathers of one of the school team.

So we passed the flight talking about sailing. Was great to see the enthusiasm for sailing in these young folks.

All is not lost, there are future generations of sailors out honing their skills right now.
