I wonder if the Coast Guard stealth vessel that intercepted us ...

off shore in the middle of the night had AIS - I never knew he was there until he announced "vessel at (gave lat/lon) making four knots NW this is the United States Coast Guard - respond please" I was pretty sure he was talking to us! He advised us to maintain course and speed and they would come to us. Which they did, and boarded in a professional manner - great bunch of kids who knew their business. They advised us that it was a "safety check" and they would have to look in our bilges to make sure we were not taking on any water! Bwahahahah! I asked him if they had picked us up on radar and he replied "we pick everyone up on radar" I was happy to hear that, as I was unsure if we were visible out there in the dark.

The first thing they ask was if we had any weapons aboard - I told them there was a loaded .38 in the v-berth, they said "no problem captain - just keep the crew away from that area" apparently Terrel's reputation had preceded her (they don't call her "Whirl and Kill" for nothing.
