You check out the list of reporting stations, and there are only about 55 in the USA. Max receiving range on these seems to be about 10 miles at best, which leaves a lot of the coastline out of range. And of the 55, a fair number are reported as 'off line', such as the single site in Portland, ME. The website, as nice as it is, seems to be relying on folks to set up receiving stations and then forward the information to the website out of the goodness of their heart. Current coverage is far from 100% (probably less than 50%) and certainly has no redundancy.
