...Sorry, have never sailed one, can only offer my opinion based on what I've seen at the Shows, and walking the docks...

I've always liked those boats A LOT... I think that layout makes a lot of sense for a couple, I like the windshield arrangement, and the decks are very safe/easy to move about... The overall build quality appears to be superb, I've only heard favorable things about them, seem to have a very good rep...

My guess would be they're probably a solid performer under sail, if you can keep from loading them down with crap... I'll bet they're very comfortable underway, and probably a bit sportier to sail than their appearance would indicate...

They appear to have a VERY devoted following, every owner I've met absolutely loves their boats... If that style of boat appeals to you, I doubt you could go wrong with a Gozzard, they look pretty sweet to my eye...
