Old Fart's Boat? Jon, you sound like Perry...I suspect he never sailed a Gozzard, either (grin).
However, Jon was right on the other things: superb build, roomy decks, fixed windshield, etc. It sails well in light air due to that long bowsprit which adds 6' to the sail base for more S/A.
The G37 replaced the 36, the same boat but with a redesigned underbody: deeper keel, less wetted surface, a semi-balanced rudder. The G41 and G44 also have the better performance hull now.
Some of the larger Gozzards, like mine, come with a traditional interior with a forward cabin and centerline berth. This makes for better usage of the 38' W/L.
I know of a G44 that's been cruising AUS and NZ for a couple of years and is now returning to the PNW.
The owners are as devoted as Island Packet owners and that's because of great factory support.
