I have steps up to the first spreaders. Not any more windage than anything else up there and they've never snagged a line. Mine are all Al. I've rivited two out of the three holes and screwed the other in. I think either that or the opposite. Figure I've the best of both worlds then. Rivots can't vibrate loose and the screws will I figure be stronger.

Looks? Never had anyone comment and say they're ugly. Had a friend that owned a boat yard that once told me; what's practical and usable looks good.
