Tom, I met some folks up in Alaska who'd been to NZ and back who swore by having high jacklines
I've pretty much abandoned the use of jacklines on my boat...

Jacklines on deck, that is (hence my interest in the high-up ones, attached to the shrouds that Charlie mentioned.
