are seriously servicing and selling the units. i sent them my old one to be rebuilt and they did a good job for about $150 and returned it within a week. i've since bought a new unit and installed it last week. it's a very powerful autopilot (i've got a 37 foot 20000 lb cutter). it's also very easy to install.

it does use old technology - a magnetic compass instead of a fluxgate compass - but it's also simple to operate. having no experience with other wheel drive pilots i can't say if it's better or worse than others, but it is the only wheel drive that can handle boats over 16000 lbs.

and at less than half the price and a fraction of the complexity of installing a below decks pilot, i think you should consider it.
