I have three Canon Cameras, all use different proprietary batteries. Two of the cams use very similar but slightly different chargers (and thus different batteries).

Previously I had used Kodak cameras, which all had AA rechargeable.. but the Canon Cams are just better quality, so I switched. That AA battery thing has saved me in remote areas, where I could still buy AA batteries, but had no way of charging anything else.

Back in the day of film (and I know it does still exist) I had a manual camera that never failed me.
