"When possible, use a front loading washing machine.." Home free!

I'll add that when we shifted back to a front loader..had one in the fifties as a kid at home, Bendix..our water bill dropped by half. I mean the entire water bill. 16 gallons per load versus toploader 35 gallons per load and laundry takes up a lot the water used by a family of four.

Further, under the duress of marital bliss we got a washer from Staber Industries in..Ohio(?). It has been simple, efficient and worked flawlessly for ten years now. It's actually a top loading front loader. SS basket spins but loads thru the top. Staber fixes the machines that others take back in warranty repairs and figured they could also make one better. IMHO it is. It's a simple machine but also has a killer final spin akin to the extractors you find in laundromats. Cut us back from often having to dry clothes twice oftentimes to actually get them dry due to large amount of water the old toploader didn't remove in spin cycle.

But I digress......
