Yea, I thought about this. I wasn't sure if it would hold under pressure. I use a heavy duty bridal snubber and it rubs pretty hard against the stay. I would rather put the whole thing over the stay. I am also planning to use a composite PVC Polyurethane clear plastic hose rather than the white pvc - that is if I can guess the diameter I need.
